Release Announcement: Philips Digital Pocket Memo (DPM) can now be used on a Mac OS

Philips is pleased to announce that we have released the newly developed DPMConnect4Mac software.
Using the Philips DPM on a Mac platform was a very long lasting request from end-users which we can
fulfill now. For the first time ever a Philips Digital Pocket Memo (DPM) can now be used on a Mac OS.

In the legal and medical environment the Mac platform becomes more and more fashionable.

Many companies already also support a Bring Your Own Device policy where end users can decide by
themselves which device they would like to use for their daily work. In many cases this is nowadays a MacBook.

It is therefore quite natural that DPM users expect to download dictations via their Mac into the
company network while their assistants are still working with a standard Windows PC.

DPMConnect4Mac has been designed to download DSS and DS2 dictation files from professional
Philips Dication devices.

This document describes the details to the release of this software product


INTRODUCTION:

DPMConnect4Mac is designed to download DSS and DSS Pro dictations from
Philips DPMs in a Mac environment.

The software allows configuring several download settings such as target folders
and automatic subfolder creation.  It is also possible to specify download rules which enable the user to automatically download only specific dictations.  To also support mixed environments where competitor devices are used DPMConnect4Mac also supports the download from Olympus DS-5000 and DS-3400 including the used subfolder structure.

SUPPORTED MAC PLATFORMS

SpeechControl4Mac was tested with the following Mac operating systems:

 Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
 Mac OS X 10.7 Lion
For all listed operating systems, it is recommended that the latest update available is applied before installing DPMConnect4Mac.

The new DPMConnect4Mac software supports following portable dictation devices:

 Digital Pocket Memo 9600/9620
 Digital Pocket Memo 9500/9520
 Digital Pocket Memo 9380
 Digital Pocket Memo 9370
 Olympus DS-5000
 Olympus DS-3400

Note: Connecting more than one device at the same time is not supported.

SUPPORTED LANGUAGE
The DPMConnect4Mac software is currently provided in English only.

The new DPMConnect4Mac software will be available as download option from the “Product support”
page of the Philips Speech Processing website.
