Support: SpeechMike III (LFH3500, LFH3510, LFH3600, & LFH3610) how to change it to perform as the SpeechMike II (LFH5272, LFH5274, LFH5276, LFH5282 and LFH5284) Firmware and Settings

The SpeechMike III (SMIII) and the SpeechMike Premium Can be downgraded to perform as the SpeechMike II (SMII). Some features with the software or hardware might not be compatible with the newer firmware.

We at YB Sales make sure that all microphones are upgraded to the latest firmware prior to shipping. If you need the latest and greatest just place your order with YB Sales and by default we will ship you the latest firmware installed. If you wish for us to set it to SMII please include a note in the comment section of your order online. If ordering by phone, please give the sales rep the information at the time of your order, with your preferences.

To change it by yourself please read carefully and follow the instructions below:

Important Note: Always make sure to have the latest software of the "Philips Device Control Center" installed on your PC.

Make sure the "Philips Device Control Center" shows the correct microphone under "Active Device" as shown below. The same should be with the picture on the side, should show the Picture of your Microphone (LFH3500 pictured below)

Press the F1 + F3 buttons on your microphone simultaneously for more than five seconds.

The F2-LED will light up for five seconds afterwards when switching to 'SMII-mode'

A short beep will finally acknowledge the operation.

The "Philips Device Control Center" will now show as follows

 

Please note: firmware upgrade and assigning new functionality to buttons is not possible when in SMII mode.

To Switch back to SMIII follow the same steps as above:

Press the F1 + F3 buttons simultaneously for more than five seconds.

The F3-LED will light for five seconds afterwards when switching to 'SMIII-mode. A short beep will finally acknowledge the operation.
