Support: Philips Digital Pocket Memo DPM8000 to configure record DSS format, or Convert to DSS

The Philips DPM8000 is configured to record by default as a DS2 (Digital Speech Standard Pro) file format, which enables encryption and other enhanced features and the file size is smaller, which is easier and faster to email.

We have recently had some requests on how to change the Philips Digital Pocket Memo recorder to dictate in DSS (Digital Speech Standard) format, and as well how to edit and existing dictation which was recorded in DS2 file format and convert it to DSS file format. some transcription users may find difficulties transcribing DS2 files with older or third-party software.

There is always an option for the transcriber to get the upgraded latest Philips SpeechExec software, or to use the Phillips SpeechLive cloud dictation workflow solution which works best with DS2 file format.
