Instructions for Authors using the Philips Speechair




Instructions for authors using the Philips SpeechAir. (for transcriber instructions see below)


Step 1:
Follow the instructions in the email author invite you have received from SpeechLive to activate your author account and create your author SpeechLive password. Please make sure to follow the password requirements described below. Remember your password; you will need to put this information in the SpeechAir settings. 

 For enhanced security Philips implemented the following password requirements:

- Password must contain at least 8 characters

- Do not use a semicolon ";"

- Need to contain at least 1 uppercase letter

- Need to contain at least 1 lowercase letter  

- Need to contain at least 1 number 

Step 2:

Charge the SpeechAir device for at least 2-4 hours.


Step 3 (SpeechAir Setup):
- Power on the SpeechAir by holding down the power button on the side for approximately 6 seconds until the red LED light goes on at the top, then release the power button.

- On the welcome screen, click okay, and follow the prompts to view the on-screen guide.

- On the Setting icon (cogwheel) 

- Click on Wi-Fi, select your wifi network and put in the password credentials, and click "Connect"

 

Step 4 (SpeechLive Setup):

- Press the EOL button, which is the button on the side on the top above the slide-switch to launch the Philips dictation recorder app.

- Click okay to close the SpeechLive feature screen.

- Click on the settings tab on the top right.

- Select "Forwarding" 
-  Select  "SpeechLive"  

- Click on "Account name" and put in your email address and password. Click "Sign in" and SpeechLive will connect to the server, you are all set by now; click the back arrow at the bottom left to go back to the previous screen.

 

Step 5 (Recording):

- Select the "Dictate" tab on the upper left
- Move up the slide switch to record (all the way up)

 

Step 6 (Sending):

To send the dictation you have 3 ways of doing that.

1. Press the end of the letter (EOL) button, and select "SpeechLive" or you can select any of the other options.

2. Press the "Checkmark icon" on the right of the display of the recorder, and select "SpeechLive" or you can select any of the other options.  

3. Press the share icon (the 3 dots prong), and select "SpeechLive" or you can select any of the other options.

 

There will be a pop-up notifying you of the progress, Compressing... Sending dictation: ... once successful. At the top of the screen, you will see a notification "dictations sent successfully".  Once it's sent to SpeechLive, the dictations are uploaded to the workflow, and available for the transcribers to transcribe it, the transcriber will get an email notification every 15 minutes when there is a new dictation added to the cloud workflow.

 

Your account and the app is set up with the cloud workflow, and the dictations are available for the transcriber to transcribe through Google Chrome web-browser, on a computer with Windows or Mac OS, or through the Philips SpeechExec software on a Windows OS computer.  


Optional:

When using Dragon with the Philips SpeechExec software you also need to do additional set up and customization, reach out to our support team for assistance. And of course, there are additional available features. If there is a need for anything else, please share it with our support team so we can help you and advise you if that feature is available.

 

Instructions for transcriber using the Philips SpeechLive workflow.

You will now have access to the company dictations working from home from any computer, and there is no need to install any software.

 

You should have received an email from the SpeechLive system (noreply@speech.com). The email contained a link for you to set up your new account and choose a password. This password will be used to login to your SpeechLive account.

 

For enhanced security Philips implemented the following password requirements:

- Password must contain at least 8 characters

- Need to contain at least 1 lowercase letter  

- Need to contain at least 1 number 

The link in the SpeechLive invitation email will be active until midnight, if you need us to send you the invite email again please reply to this email, or contact your system administrator. 


This section needs to be completed by the transcriptionist:

 

Make sure to use Google Chrome web browser which is best compatible with the system.

Step 1.
Follow the instructions in the email you have received from SpeechLive to activate your account and create your SpeechLive password.

Step 2.  
Go to, www.speechlive.com and log-in with your SpeechLive credentials, the page will be directed to the dictations tab displayed, the list of all dictations which already to transcribe, will be displayed each line will be in new records, as you would see in the SpeechExec software window. (If you are using the same login for the user author and transcriber, make sure that you click on the next page login under User role: Transcriptionist)

- You need to select one dictation at a time for Playback. 

- Select "Open in player" on that play icon to enable the (Philips) foot control to work.

For users with SpeechExec software on a Windows computer ; 
- In the top menu bar of the software click on SpeechLive settings  and put in your SpeechLive credentials email and password
- On the next few steps on screen select "No"
- Click "Finish"

You are all set, you will see the SpeechLive folders displayed in the folders section. If you have an office the software, it's important to make a note on your password, so we get back to the office you will be able to put in the information and SpeechExec, this way you will have or you dictations in the same place, you will also be able to send the dictations from the local folder to the cloud folder to be able to continue and finish it remotely.
