Support tip: How to Configure Philips DPM8000 Display to Classic Mode (cassette tape appearance)

The Philips Digital Pocket Memo display can be customized for either advanced or classic, as you can see in the picture below:

We recently received requests for detailed steps to switch the display appearance of the Philips Digital Pocket Memo DPM8000, DPM8100, DPM8200, DPM8300, and DPM8500. 

This can be done with the Philips SpeechExec software on a Windows operating system computer or on the device itself. We can also customize the Digital Pocket Memo before shipping your order.

Instructions on how to change the display on your device: 

1. Click the enter smart button [Menu].
2. Navigate to the [Display] menu, by pressing the minus [-] button twice. (The minus button is the Round button on the face of the recorded next to the Speaker) Press the smart button on the right [Enter].
3. Navigate to the [Appearance] menu by pressing the minus [-] button twice. Press the smart button on the right [Enter].
4. Navigate to [Classic] mode by pressing the minus [-] button once. Press the center Smart button [Enter] To confirm your selection. Press the left smart button [Back] Three times to get back to the main recording screen.

Instructions on how to switch the display appearance on the Computer; 

Please note: the following steps only work on a Windows operating system computer with the Philips SpeechExec Pro dictate software.

Connect the Philips Digital Pocket Memo to the computer utilizing the supplied USB cable. You may also insert your device into the Philips Digital Pocket Memo docking station connected to the computer.

1. Click on  Settings 2. Click on DPM settings 3. Click on "Start configuration"
4. Click on display "Display" 5. Click on "Classic display" 6. Click "OK"
